Faith, love, politics and more - Cologne-based photojournalist Bernd Arnold takes an analytical look at the symbols of the powerful and empowerment through symbols.

Election campaign 1998: Bernd Arnold waits until Schröder has talked himself up. Only then does he find his pictures, which show a different politician. He moves the candidate for chancellor at the time to the far right of the picture, surrounded by the slogan "The new centre". The candidate appears evocative and tense. Little centre, a lot of emptiness in the picture space. The slogan becomes an ironic commentary.

The German based photojournalist Bernd Arnold featured in hi documentary photography the rituals of power.
